“We just need someone to come by and help us with some general questions and problems, and to give us some ideas on making improvements.”

I have heard this from clients many times over the course of my career in the landscape business, which is why I offer simple hourly consultations.

These are tailored for homeowners and do-it-yourselfers who just need a hand sorting things out or need some fresh ideas. I can help you with yard maintenance questions, pruning advice, plant selection and placement, hardscape issues (paths, walkways, masonry projects, carpentry, soil amending, just to name a few). I have extensive experience in irrigation systems, both sprinklers and drip, if you need help with that. I can also provide you with the resources on where to purchase plants, materials and tools to do your projects. No matter what size area you have or the complexity, my consultations provide affordable solutions to your landscape and garden concerns and questions.

Landscape Design Process

In our first meeting we will discuss ideas that you would like implemented and what you hope to  achieve. We will assess the site and decide which existing plants and hardscape items should  remain and be incorporated into the new design. I will analyze the conditions (soil type, sun, shade, and wind patterns, and drainage issues). I will take measurements, photographs and make notes on several items. We will discuss the conceptual design for hardscape amenities: walkways, arbors, retaining walls, patios, water features, etc.. I will ask you to complete a design questionnaire to help me with your preferences concerning plants and materials. I will then return to my studio with this data and develop several ideas and preliminary plans in 2D and 3D CAD format to present to you in our next meeting.

In our second meeting, I will present the preliminary plans, show you pictures of selected plants and bring samples of hardscape materials. We will further discuss the project in detail and I will provide additional suggestions. At this time you can make changes, refinements and revisions. You can also share new ideas and concepts that you would like to incorporate into the design.

In our final meeting, I will present you with the final master plans drawn to scale. You will receive both conceptual hardscape plans and detailed planting plans with quantities, sizes and botanical names. You will also receive both 2D and 3D CAD color printouts to show exactly how your new landscape will look. I will provide you with detailed material lists and cost estimates.

The cost of a full design package will depend on the size of the area and scope of the project.

Landscape Staging

The concept of interior home staging is well known. Pacific Landscape Design takes it outdoors to make a great first impression and give your property “curb appeal” which increases value and helps you sell faster. The first thing prospective buyers see when they drive up to your house is the landscape. It only makes sense to enhance the appearance by simple renovation, pruning, adding color and perhaps a tree and shrubs. Doing so will demonstrate the care with which the home has been cared for and help draw and invite people to come in and see your home. Nearly 99% of all real estate appraisers agree that professional landscaping enhances the overall sales appeal of a home (Source: National Gardening Association).

Fees for this service starts at $120.00 for a two hour evaluation of your entire property’s landscape. You will be provided with printed recommendations and renovation sketches. *Travel fees may apply.
